NEWS
Researchers design a method that enables scanning electron microscopes to see graphene growing: Researchers from the University of Surrey have designed a new method that enables common laboratory scanning electron microscopes to see graphene growing over a microchip surface in real time. This discovery could create a way to control the growth of graphene in production factories and lead to the reliable production of graphene layers. The new technique not only produces graphene sheets reliably but also allows to use catalysts that reduce growth times from several hours to only a few minutes.
Not graphene: Researchers discover new type of atomically thin carbon material: Carbon exists in various forms. In addition to diamond and graphite, there are recently discovered forms with astonishing properties. For example graphene, with a thickness of just one atomic layer, is the thinnest known material, and its unusual properties make it an extremely exciting candidate for applications like future electronics and high-tech engineering.
Graphene Flagship Spin-off Developing Imaging Technology for Next-Gen Computer Vision Solutions: Qurv Technologies was launched from Graphene Flagship partner ICFO in Barcelona, Spain and established in 2020.
A material-keyboard made of Graphene: Researchers at ETH Zurich have succeeded in turning specially prepared graphene flakes either into insulators or into superconductors by applying an electric voltage. This technique even works locally, meaning that in the same graphene flake regions with completely different physical properties can be realized side by side.
Gerdau launches new company to accelerate the graphene market: Gerdau inaugurated a new company called Gerdau Graphene, which will develop and market products based on graphene application. The Company, which will operate independently from the steel business divisions, is born with the mission of becoming the reference in marketing products based on graphene in Brazil and with the focus on reaching global markets.
